About Us:

Use this section to write about yourself - don't be shy - Why should a buyer or seller want to work with you? Do you have any certifications and qualifications? What sets you apart from other agents/loan officers?

I entered real estate 8 years ago from corporate America where I was a senior scientist with Frito-Lay. That's right, the snack company. But don't ask for any potato chips, they'd be pretty stale. I went to work for Frito-Lay right out of graduate school and enjoyed the opportunities for challenges and world travel. But eventually living on airplanes and in hotels grew old and the lure of challenges and creativity my own business would bring carried the day. And oh yes, then there is coming home every night after work. The choice of real estate was made easy by my passion for the profession.

By way of a short biography, I was born in Reading, Pa. but spent most of my formative years in a suburb of Philadelphia called Malvern. I attended a small college in central Pa. called Dickinson College, obtained a M.S. form the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. from the Univ. of Maine at Orono. I currently reside in northern Wisconsin on River Bend Farm on the banks of the Wisconsin River in McNaughton (between Minocqua and Rhinelander) with my wife Barb (also in The Yoder Group). Between us we share six great children and four (one of a kind) grandchildren. It doesn't get any better than this.

During the summer months when we're not assisting someone chase and catch their real estate dream we like to spend time on our sail boat. We keep our girl, Beata (Latin for blessed) on Lake Superior in Bayfield, WI. During the Fall and Spring there are plenty of trees to cut and prune, wood to split, and general repairs around the farm, in the summer there is the garden, and of course during the winter it is a matter of hauling wood to the house through the snow on the otter sled. Eventually we'd like to get some Highland cattle to graze in our pasture and keep us active after work. Afterall, it's not all about putting our feet up and watching the river flow after a day immersed in real estate.

Anyway, that's a little bit about me and some about my wife and family, and a sampling of my enthusiasm for real estate. If you do chose to check out the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin and are considering a permanent move here or a second home, please allow me and The Yoder Group to assist you in reaching your goal.

Areas of Expertise

Use this section to write about your specific areas of expertise. Do you specialize in first time buyers - listing high end homes - etc. Are there specific market area's that you specialize in? The more you write about your area's of expertise the more knowledgeable you'll sound to a potential buyer or seller.

The Yoder Group is an integrated team of real estate professionals focused on specializing and developing expertise beyond the norm. Within the organization I concentrate on listings, technology, web based advertsing, and finanical planning. Barb Sass Yoder also focuses on listing and buyers but includes in her portfolio of responsibility marketing and recruitment. Presently Carol Seidel is developing a buyer base. Despite areas of specialization, all of us cross train and perform. For example, I do work with and enjoy assisting buyers reach their goals.

Our market is the Northwoods of Wisconsin. This is predominatly a resort and second home market for Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and the Fox Valley (Green Bay, Appleton, Neenah). For most people moving to the area lake homes are the target and for obvious reasons. There is little better then sitting on the deck watching the color explosion as the sun sets or the glow on the horizon as the sun shows up for another day (although here in the Northwoods you need to get up pretty early to catch this sight in the summer). If you can't tell I live on water. However, this is not to detract from the joy and the sense of oneness that comes from the country life. Whta's better than to put both of these together. But finally and certainly not least are the Rhinelander city homes. Sometimes the convenience of living in town and the proximity to shopping and medical services outweigh the call of the wild. The Rhinelander city market is quite diverse with a home for most everybody. The executive summary of all this is there is probably a place for you in the Northwoods and if you chose to find it, I and The Yoder Group are here to walk every step with you.
