Providing legal support for real property transactions for 33 years, I have knowledge and experiece to solve title coverage challenges and escrow problems. I enjoy helping others learn my business.

In my present role I provide senior underwriting support and approvals for the largest commercial transactions to be insured by the agents and branches of the title insurance companies operated by the Fidelity National Title Group, inluding Fidelity, Chicago, Ticor, Lawyers, Commonwealth Land and Security Union, in the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. 

My education is in business administration at the University of Washington, then law school at the University of Puget Sound.  My career as a lawyer started in private practice for five years, helping clients primarily with real property transactions, but also in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, land use and general business advice.  Next I worked in house for Safeco Title as a trial lawyer, representing the title company and its Insureds in litigation for five years. 

My past 23 years have been in the same work, advising the title and escrow operations of title companies in the northwest states.  I have been honored by promotions to the senior level with responsibility for title insurance underwriting and management of its lawyers for the northwest states.  I have also been privileged to serve the industry by appointments on various committees for both title associations and real property bar associations.  I served as the President of the Washington Land Title Ass'n and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Washington State Bar Ass'n.  In those roles, I remain active in Washington legislative sessions.

My specialized knowledge would include creating title insurance forms, analysis of title policy coverage, negotiation of solutions to transaction problems with specialized policy modifications and endorsements, mechanic's lien rights, mortgage priorities, foreclosure issues, enforceability of covenants and the creation and extinguishment of easements.
