About Toby:
I was born in Nürnburg Germany while my father was in the Army but I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. After graduating high school in 96' I entered the construction world and work for the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union local 32 for 3 1/2 years. During that time I experienced the most demanding and stressful work environments I had ever and still have ever seen. Working 100+ hours on blow outs gave me the skills to perform high quality work under the most brutal conditions. Taking the advice of the old timers, I left construction pipelining to go to college. In 2004, I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Business Management and two double minors in Internal Business and Consulting. The college experience was greater than I had ever expected and had the opportunity to do my internship with the Seattle Mariners (operations department), and no I never met the players. That experience brought confidence and my first office experience ever. Just after graduation the UW sent me to Bosnia to help teach business strategy, business consulting and team building in the first private college. It was an eye opening, wonderful and enlightening experience and one which I hold very dear. Upon my return I landed a gig with Starbucks Coffee Company. Getting into the Accounting Department was not my first choice but what the heck, I was working for Starbucks. The team I worked with is the best one I have ever been with to this date. It was fun, relaxing and funny ever single day. The friendships I established there are close to my heart and I plan on visiting them soon. That is the first job I ever quit that I truly enjoyed. That experience led me to accept the Business Development Manager position at Barnett Associates Real Estate. I have been here since Nov 1, 2005 and every day is a joy because I am doing what I majored in college. Since my arrival, I have taken on the role of the office manager, marketing manager, accountant (imagine that), recruiter and the receptionist.
