Description
Helping people buy and sell homes in Maryland's central metropolitan commuter corridor. Providing Action Attention and Assurance in Real Estate. Call me first!

Action. Attention. Assurance.  integrity - n. - 1. adherence to moral and ethical principals: soundness of moral character: honesty 2. the state of being whole, entire or undiminished 3. a sound, unimpaired condition

Action? I've never been one to sit still.  When something needs to be done, I do it.  I am a full-time agent, which means your Real Estate transaction is my primary job. It makes a difference.

Attention? Attentive, detail oriented and observant, you bet

Attentive- I actually listen to my clients.  And answer my phone.

Detail Oriented- I do my best to find the potential for problems, and avoid them altogether so you have a much smoother and much less stressful experience. I believe in taking the extra effort to do things thoroughly and correctly the first time.

Observant- In a family of police officers, by default, my brain works in a similar "detective-like" and protective way.  I am tuned in to the smallest details, which are usually the most important, because they build the bigger picture. This skill is helpful in assisting you in making informed decisions and facilitating smooth transactions.

Assurance?  My clients can count on my loyalty and individual attention.  Real Estate is a very personal business.  By getting to know what is important to you, you can have the confidence that I am working diligently with your interests at the forefront. Make sure when choosing an agent, you are confident that you will be able to work closely with them and that they will "hear you" and not talk "at you."  Buying and selling can be very stressful, and you will likely be spending a lot of time with this person. Choose wisely.

Approachable- Feel free to contact me! I'm here for YOU.  I welcome "wondering" questions that you've been hanging on to.  Whether as a client of mine with questions, or if you haven't talked to a Realtor yet and you are wondering about selling, buying, renting, or finding out if/what you qualify to purchase, please send me an email, text or give me a call.  The only "silly" questions are those not asked. And No, you're not bothering me, that's what I'm here for. =) No charge or obligation for time or questions!

About me- A multi-generation Baltimore - Washington Corridor native, the Quad-counties are my stomping grounds.  (Howard, AA, PG, Montgomery) I have watched the area grow and develop, neighborhood by neighborhood. I come from a LARGE family and have connections and history in most local areas.

PEOPLE, superior customer service, design, PR and marketing are my passion and areas of experience.

I find value in all PEOPLE and treat everyone that way.  Respect is my cornerstone. "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13-2

My management and customer service experience has equipped me with the skills to deal with people in a multitude of emotional states and resolve problems quickly and calmly. Remember, real estate is very personal business. It's about HOME and MONEY! Heck of a combination!

I have vision.  When you talk to me and describe where you want to live, what you want and what you do not want, I get it.  I can picture it.  I can help you achieve it, while staying within your means OR helping guide the way to get you there.

Design, PR and Marketing- When listing a home, I can suggest improvements, large or small, to get the sale faster.  Subtle things, like wiping down switch-plates, can make all the difference in the world. (I call it eliminating the "yuk-factor.") I will showcase and market your home based on what makes it special and unique. My college background in both English/grammar and Graphic Design help with all facets of communication. (I designed the Hammersmith Team Logo.)

About my team- Kevin Hammersmith, our Team leader, has been serving Maryland since 1988 (over 23 years) providing clients with top notch service.  I have known Kevin since we were in the second grade.  His family has been in the business over 35 years. (And his mother sold my family's house in 1976!)  He has lived real estate his entire life, playing in his mother's Real Estate Brokerage office as a child.  She is now in the Mortgage business. One of our team's biggest strengths is knowing buyer's mortgage options by keeping up with the latest programs. This puts both our buyers and sellers at a tremendous advantage. If anyone knows the business and the area inside and out, Kevin does. He has been an award-winning, top producing Realtor since AGE 19!!!  These are just some of his awards:

Testimonials:

Cabery plaque

I live in Massachusetts and had to move my 95-year-old mother from her 3-bedroom home in Ellicott City to an assisted living place closer to me as her health declined.     Not being familiar with Realtors in the Ellicott City area, I used the yellow pages to find 3 Realtors, whom I personally “interviewed”, to learn about the local market conditions and to determine the best match for selling my mom’s house.

I selected Theresa and, boy, did I hit a home run!   Theresa had extremely good knowledge of the housing values, was reliable, answered questions promptly, and had the full support of an excellent team at Long & Foster.    She went above and beyond what a Realtor normally does and here’s what I mean.

In 2 particular areas, Theresa provided invaluable “extra” assistance.   First, she knew a wide array of excellent local contractors to do a kitchen make-over, painting, and new floor.  This work came out excellently and within budget.   Second, Theresa brought her family over one Saturday to move some larger furniture.   This personal touch was extremely helpful and timely in preparing the house for showing.

Theresa held several showings and made excellent suggestions as to how to present the actual rooms at their showing best.

Although the closing was held up due to other buyer complications, Theresa skillfully helped resolve the nitty-gritty points to ensure that I received a timely settlement, and successfully worked through and solved the problems in a difficult transaction.

I whole-heartedly recommend Theresa Sheaffer as a Realtor with an excellent personality and real estate knowledge.   I believe you won’t be disappointed.

About two years ago, we engaged Ms. Theresa Sheaffer to look for a building where our son, Atty. Alvin H. Roda, would relocate his progressive Laurel School of Music, in Laurel.  Although Ms. Sheaffer was only stating her real estate work at that time, yet we were so impressed with her dedication, perseverance, resourcefulness and friendliness that in November, last year, we asked her again to be our REALTOR in looking for a house to purchase.  In the process of finding the house in 9530 Linville Avenue which we now own, she exhibited a rare character and personality worthy of admiration, expertise, talent and knowledge that make her a desirable REALTOR.

This short note is to let you know how satisfied we are with her service and professionalism as a REALTOR. Should we need a REALTOR again in the future, she will be our first choice.  Likewise, we can highly recommend her to anyone without reservation.
