Who is The Property Management Company?

The Property Management Company was founded in 1995 to provide professional management and leasing services throughout the Austin Metropolitan Area.  Our agents (all Realtors®) do not broker (list/sell) properties as per our company policy; and therefore, we can apply 100% of our attention and focus on real estate management, landlord/tenant activities, and consultation services for current and potential investors throughout Central Texas.

 

Company Founder Our founding broker is Jim Smith,CRS,GRI,RMP,CNE.  He has been a licensed Realtor® in the state of Texas since 1985 and has experience with both residential and commercial sales prior to the formation of The Property Management Company.

Jim leads our company with the expertise gained as an active leader and member in several local, state and national professional real estate associations; and, he personally invests in residential and commercial properties.

Jim currently serves on several committees specific to property-right issues and Realtor® professionalism.  His positions include: Region 15 Representative on the Political Involvement Council (PIC) with the Texas Association of Realtors® (TAR); Serves on TAR's and as Co-Chair of the Austin Board of Realtors® (ABOR) Professional Standards (Charged with enforcing the Realtors® Code of Ethics and arbitration);  Governmental Affairs with ABOR and TAR; as well as several other committees and task forces throughout the country.  He is a Past President of both WCAOR and NARPM-Austin.

Jim has won numerous awards over the years due to his unselfish commitment and passion towards the real estate profession; which includes:  Broker/Realtor® of the Year, Property Manager of the Year (twice), and Lifetime Achievement and Service Award.

While running his company and developing his investments is an important aspect of Jim's life, it's not the only thing.  He maintains a balanced life through his pursuit of his other passions, which include: Family, Mountaineering and Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Sailing, Motorcycling, and many other areas of interest that usually involves the outdoors.
