The City Of Charlottesville, Virginia - My Home
Charlottesville is one of Virginia's most beautiful and magnificent cities that is tucked in to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and located within the confines of Albemarle County. The city is named after Princess Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburd-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of England and is teaming with US history. Sometimes referred to as "the city of the three presidents", the Charlottesville area was home to Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe. You can visit Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello year round. Tours are also available for James Monroe's home, Ash Lawn-Highland, and James Madison's Montpelier Estate where you can often times see a steeplechase!
All of Charlottesville's rich history has hepled to shape and define its urban core. Downtown Charlottesville has beautiful historic architecture and this same beautiful architecture can be seen at the University of Virginia, as well as in the surrounding homes and businesses. Charlottesville's rich and rolling landscape is painted with all kinds of amazing real estate!
As far as demographic information, in 2005, Charlottesville's city proper only had a population of 40,437. Even though the city of Charlottesville and the county of Albemarle are two separate and legal entities, the Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the two as far as population. That brings the total population to a busling 118,398! Wow! Back in 2004, Charlottesville was ranked as the number one BEST place to live in the United States in the book Cities Ranked and Rated by Bert Sperling and Peter Sander. The cities are ranked strictly on their cost of living, climate and quality of life. There is no doubt that Charlottesville is an enchanting place to see and be seen!
With all of that being said, Charlottesville is best known for the University of Viriginia that was founded and designed by our third president, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson's mountain-top home, Monticello, as mentioned before, and the Foxfield Races! (Yes, people do know Charlottesville for that crazy horse race!) As far as Monticello, it is also in Albemarle County and it attracts thousands of tourists every year.
Other attractions include the room of the famous author, Edgar Allen Poe, who attended the University of Virginia. You can find it located on the Lawn at the University of Virginia where it is always on display and boasts many guests every year. You can also visit the Rotunda which is a half scale model of the Pantheon in Rome!
Your Partner in Real Estate
Naked Real Estate Team's goal is to empower you with the tools and education so you are able to make an informed buying and selling decision. We do this because we believe that one of two things is going to happen.
1) You may read our blogs and visit our websites. Get some ideas and begin marketing on your own. If you stick to your guns and pull through with a sale, then phenominal! We were able to empower you and it's a win win! (Just don't forget to pass our name along!) ;)
2) You may think about selling For Sale By Owner and then realize you don't have time or the expertise. Give us a call and we can complete the sale for you! Having been educated, you have a clearer understanding of the goals and objectives we are both trying to acheive and that makes both of our jobs easier! Either way you look at it, all parties end up winning in the long run!
