Desiree Whalen is by far one of the most genuinely compassionate people I have ever met, in addition to being an outstanding real estate professional. 

My wife and I decided to work with her when we were purchasing our vacation home in Wilmington. She took the time to listen to what we wanted, compiled the criteria, and sent us only homes that matched what we desired. My wife and I then prioritized the selections and made the long trip from York, Pennsylvania to Wilmington, NC, where Desiree greeted us with a warm smile. She had made all the arrangements to see 20 homes in one day, since we were on such a tight time frame with a newborn. 

At no time did she push or cajole us in a direction we did not want to go, and she patiently took the entire Saturday to tour all of these homes. In that batch was the home we would ultimately purchase. Desiree handled absolutely every detail of the transaction, even to the point of using electronic signature technology, and we were able to complete forms while we were on the highway traveling back to Pennsylvania. Desiree made all the appropriate arrangements to have the home prepared so that the very next time we travelled down, everything was perfect. Once we were settled in, she came over to visit, and shared some critical information about the area, since we are not local. My wife and I both feel very secure owning real estate 500 miles away from home, knowing that Desiree is only a phone call away and is there to help us with absolutely anything.

For everyone who is looking for an Agent to help them purchase a home I would like to make a recommendation. Having served in the military and worked for the Federal Government my entire life I have moved more than my share of times.

When my wife and I found Desiree Whalen we knew that we had found a once in a lifetime agent. We live several hours from the North Carolina coast where we were looking to purchase a new home. As we talked to Desiree she developed an idea of what type of home we were looking for and the price range that we needed to work within.

I must say that over the three to four month period of time that we looked for homes Desiree was always on call to show us different homes or to just talk by phone to help us narrow down our list. It never made any difference to her if we had ever seen the home or if we wanted to go back for our fifth or sixth look at the same home. As I said earlier we lived several hours from the coast and we could call Desiree on a short notice (sometimes as little as one day) and she would rearrange her schedule to make the one hour drive from her office to the area that we were interested in. Several times as we were looking at homes that we felt were something that might interest us we would pass a home with a for sale sign in the yard.  When we would tell Desiree that it would be nice to see that home since we were in the area, she would stop , make a phone call or two and before we left to go back home she would arrange a showing for that home as well.
