Hello, I have 23 years of extensive Residential Mortgage Banking experience as an accomplished veteran in the Residential Mortgage Lending Industry. My responsibilities have included; Mortgage Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Quality Control, Product Development, Closing and Post-Closing, Loan Processing, junior underwriting and Business Development.
I have served in a managerial, officer or specialist position at Webster Bank, DeGeorge Capital, Shawmut Mortgage, and have three years in private consulting experience in the Financial Services Industry specializing in mortgage training and mortgage company start-ups. I began my banking career in 1988 with Connecticut National Mortgage Company a mortgage subsidiary of Connecticut National Bank in West Hartford, Connecticut. I spent eight years with the company and established myselff as one of the best mortgage closers in New England before the company was dismantled from the Fleet Bank Merger in 1996.
I also have many ties to the residential mortgage banking industry. My former managers and co-workers hold positions at the Connecticut Banking Department, GMAC, Countrywide, Options One, Mortgage Lenders Network, Webster Bank, People's Bank, Integrated Loan Services, Connecticut Attorney's Title Association, Commonwealth Title, Freddie Mac, BankAmerica Mortgage, Wachovia Mortgage, CHFA, McCue Mortgage, Crescent Mortgage, Interfirst and numerous other banks, credit unions and mortgage companies in the country. I am a past member of the Technology and Internet Committees and a current member of the Closing +Compliance Committees at the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association of Connecticut. I am also a member of the Banking Compliance Association of Connecticut, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, The Connecticut Society of Mortgage Brokers and the Bristol Chamber of Commerce.
For many years, I spent countless number of hours either managing or personally processing and closing hundreds of loans every month helping many Connecticut Residents realize their dream of owning a home. As a Mortgage Broker with 18 years of Mortgage Banking experience I can offer the best overall professional service that you won't find with any other loan professional. I work with large nationally known lenders and investors and strive to meet and exceed all expectations by all parties. I personally handle each loan that goes through my company to ensure that each customer and the related real estate parties involved are comfortable with the entire process and can relax knowing that I have closed thousands of loans during my 18 years in the mortgage industry.

My secondary consideration would be to work in a junior underwriter capacity until someone can help me case study to obtain a Direct Endorsement from HUD.
I would also consider working from the home based office for marketing, business development and or review of final files for compliance or post closing.
In the past I have contracted for compliance review of files, state licensing and renewals of licensing, database building for marketing, online marketing coordination and web design and hosting assistance.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter serves as my personal letter of recommendation for Mr. William Lavigne, a fellow mortgage professional and friend that I have had the privilege of knowing and working with for many years.
Bill and I started working together back in the early1990's at Shawmut Mortgage Company. I have watched Bill dedicate many hours of his time over the past decade towards education and work for the mortgage industry to maintain his knowledge and expertise to better serve the consumers.
I have always known Bill to be a concerned citizen, who puts high regard on personal excellence, honesty and conscientious work ethic. Over the years, he has always been the one person you could count on to go the extra mile and do the right thing. Many of us mortgage professionals who have worked with Bill (and also know him personally) all agree that he is one of the few really "good guys".
I would recommend Bill Lavigne to anyone who was seeking an honest and ethical mortgage professional for your specific mortgage financing needs because he is one of the most knowledgeable and reliable Mortgage Brokers in Connecticut.
If you would like to discuss this recommendation further, please feel free to contact me at (203) 271-7582.
Thank you,
Sincerely yours,
Kathy McBriarty
Government Underwriter

Bill Lavigne is the type of mortgage broker you feel comfortable referring members of your family to for mortgage assistance. He is knowledgeable, ethical and reliable. Its rare to find a mortgage professional who is more concerned with finding the right mortgage product for a client than making a fee.

To Whom It May Concern,
RE: William Lavigne
I have had the pleasure of working and knowing William Lavigne for the past nine plus years. During said time, I have found Bill to be a person of utmost integrity. Bill's knowledge and understanding of the mortgage industry is a commodity not shared by many of his peers. He is dedicated to lending compliance and procedures so that the consumer is provided the best service available.
Bill and I have worked together in several formats- my first interaction was as a closing paralegal for a major closing firm in the area. Bill was a top closer at one of the large lenders. He was wonderful to work with, and he was always committed to getting the loan closed for the consumer in a timely manner. The client came to the table fully prepared and with no surprises when Bill was the closer, which is rare in the industry.
After I left the law firm, I was hired for the legal department of DeGeorge Home Alliance, and there I was able to work side by side with Bill. The company had just Relocated from Minnesota, and we played an integral part in reestablishing the company headquarters. As the company developed, Bill took a position in the legal department to help the General Counsel maintain the lending licenses in various states and make sure that the company was complying with the state requirements.
I currently work for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, and I am responsible for maintaining 70+ agents as well as 3 national Accounts. In my capacity at Commonwealth, I have had the opportunity to continue my working relationship with Bill by assisting in assembling an approved attorney-closing list for the State of Connecticut. Bill wanted to find the expertise and integrity in his closing attorneys that mirror his own. He wants to provide his customers the most pleasant and professional experience possible.
In my opinion, William Lavigne is very reliable and hard working individual who is a credit to the mortgage industry.
