CASE IN POINT: In a100-year-old house in sought-after Manayunk, my sellers had two old armchairs and a well-loved, dated sofa that looked "granny". Their walls were personalized with art and small collectables. The first buyers who saw the house deemed it  "too bohemian." Jessica Endy...the stager... brought in a neutral love seat and sofa, and a properly-sized dining table. We took 3/4 of the small stuff off the walls, bookshelves and tables...brought in a few lamps... and put up some inexpensive Ikea window treatments. The house immediately skewed younger. The house became the focus--not the sellers' pictures and mementos. And it sold in 16 days!!!
