Mills Herndon

Charles Lapham built the house in Thomasville after the great Chicago fire.  Every room in the house has multiple exits, in case of fire.  Thomasville was a winter resort for wealthy Northerners, as this was the end of the railroad (Florida was still swampland).   Here's a link for more information on the house:  http://gastateparks.org/LaphamPatterson
