The condominium concept as a form of home ownership is dated to as early as 200 B.C. evidenced by artifacts gathered in ancient Babylon. This was back in the day when walls surrounded our cities to keep unruly invaders out of them. The barbarians were plentiful, and living outside the walls was potentially a daily deadly battle in some form or another. The idea of a civilized society was and remains only a dream to many. As populations grew space came at a premium, however that was a pittance when it came to the value of your life.

Not all associations are out to "Get You". In fact most are trying desperately to maintain the neighborhood to it's former standard on much less revenue than previously gathered. We all find these things out when our purchasers are buying within an association and the condo questionnaire comes into play. This will determine whether or not we have a shot at getting the unit financed. It is a telltale for the financial strength of the community as a whole. You might consider the association as Lil' Sis when compared to other family members like Uncle Sam or Big Brother, but this is home … (3 comments)
