Please don't let Beverly Carter's murder become another perishable news story which is quickly forgotten. The real tragedy is that these crimes happen every day and it doesn't have to be a murder to have a lifelong effect on the victim or their families. Assault, robbery, theft, rape and abduction are occurring every minute of every day to all Americans. Varying degrees of these opportunistic crimes are not limited to associates but arise due to the reality that we are often alone in our duties and perceived as an easy target.
