An interesting perspective on how and when we conduct the most business in Naples.  You can see how we begin to "Gear Up" for the season right about now and this trend will continue until just before Thanksgiving.  There's a small hiatus through New Year and then the frenzy begins.  Our population more than triples then and the party never seems to end.  There are so many entertaining venues, know that you are going to miss some and must return again and again, year after year to fully experience the goings on here.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "Dead Reckoning" without a definition for you non-mariner types out there.  I want to be sure that we are perfectly clear with what is happening here. 
Dead Reckoning in the marine environment can be defined as: 
Determining your current position from a previously known position or "fix" and extrapolating it mathematically on a chart over regular time intervals using your estimated speed, the heading or direction along with factoring wind and current effects.

seasonality in the marketplace: Tax Credit Impact in Naples, Florida - All Property Types - 07/27/10 09:57 AM
The end of the 1st time home-buyer tax credit credit is easily identified here.  Mixed with our normal seasonal trends it's possible to overlook the activity which it created.  Consistent with the trend line it appears that we ended the season with a crescendo and then an immediate downward spiral from roughly Memorial Day.  The benefit was short lived but very effective for our needs and inspired an otherwise lackluster Springtime to surge beyond expectations.  Buyers remain but they have been converting to a much more conservative approach for various reasons.  Notwithstanding, the "Oil Disaster" has remained as their primary focus with … (7 comments)
