Waking up at my usual time of 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning, I jumped out of bed and started down the hallway on the way to the kitchen to make coffee, let the dogs out, let Henry the dog out to retrieve the paper, and hand out the cookies for a job well done. The morning quickly became a cycle of dog play, you know the nipping, licking, and the playful exchange of bones. Hectic and not peaceful but I did manage to read the paper and have coffee. Cleaned up the kitchen, (14 comments)
30 Days Of Hyperlocal Posts and A New Appreciation Of My Fair City Wilsonville, A City Of Trees The month of June presented itself with a challenge to do a Localism post about people, businesses, neighborhoods, in the City of Wilsonville highlighting what was happening in my town, one post per day. I enjoyed meeting owners and staff from the different businesses I highlighted and interviewed, it was a great experience. Some businesses I did slide videos on and some I did not, but let each business know afterwards that I had done a post about their business and sent (7 comments)

A Beautiful Sunday at the Allison Inn & Spa and a visit to the Wine Country for our Wedding Anniversary Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 was such a beautiful day and my husband and I went to the Allison Inn & Spa Resort to begin a celebration of our wedding anniversary. The Allison, Oregon Wine Country's Premier Destination Resort, was our first stop for one of the best breakfasts I have had in a very long time. We went early so we could just have breakfast and not Easter Brunch, we were not disappointed. Not only was (18 comments)

Fight Hunger and Poverty in Wilsonville COMMUNITY RUMMAGE SALE Hosted by Grace Chapel Over the last four years $50,000 was raised to fight hunger and poverty in Wilsonville through this rummage sale. 100% of the profits from the Wilsonville Rummage Sale go to addressing the issues of HUNGER and POVERTY in our community and last year this included glasses for kids who cannot afford them, food for the food bank, clothing, school supplies and so much more. This is a great way to clear out your own clutter, things no longer of use to you, things that someone else might (16 comments)
THE FALL STREETS OF WILSONVILLE These are the streets I drive every day and they are bursting with color and have been for a couple of weeks. It won't last long as Winter begins to take over, but for now it is a beautiful pallet of yellows, oranges, reds, purples and greens. The video is a little long, and I apologize for that, I am working on my skills to keep it short, just did not happen this time and I could not find the way to change it. I hope you enjoy the Streets of Wilsonville as much as (6 comments)
wilsonville or: A TRIBUTE TO MY DAUGHTER WITH GREAT RESPECT AND LOVE
- 09/17/11 07:57 AM
Brenda is my first born daughter and she has always been a source of joy in my life. She is gifted in so many ways and has always been wise beyond her years. When she was just twenty years old, living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, she and I were talking on the phone just about life in general. The one thing that is remarkably burned into my memory is the statement that she made to me at the time. She said, "Mom, you have been trying to find yourself for so long, and what you have not realized is that (22 comments)
A COURSE OF CHANGE GETTING BACK TO WHERE I WANT AND NEED TO BE FOR A LONG AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE STEP ONE ~ ACKNOWLEDGMENT Okay, so my doctor who is probably the nicest doctor ever and does not say much about my weight usually, let me know with the "look" that my weight was up about 30 pounds over what was healthy for me. OUCH ! Not that I did not know, not that I did not beat myself up on a regular basis for it, but now it was out in the open, in the doctor's office. (24 comments)
wilsonville or: The Streets are getting more and more empty

The Streets are getting more and more empty in my neighborhood ~ It's almost eerie When we moved into this neighborhood more than 16 years ago, the trees were small, our yard was almost devoid of plantings, our house was a blue gray and there were lots of very small children on our block and around the neighborhood. Throughout the years, the trees grew and some were replaced, landscapes changed, some people moved, but most stayed here in the neighborhood. The kids ran the neighborhood, first on skateboards, then motorized skateboards (okay, I don't know what they called them, (21 comments)

- 08/27/11 09:10 AM
GETTING GROUNDED IN THE HORSE BARNS Yesterday I was presented with an opportunity I could not turn down. A good friend of mine from my early teen years has three horses and invited me to come out to the horse barns and help her groom them. I jumped at the chance as I love horses and have not had one since my two girls were young. I have missed that part of my life. We drove to the barn about an hour away in Estacada, Oregon, beautiful countryside and horses everywhere. When we arrived we brought them in from (9 comments)

SPRING TURNED INTO SUMMER IN WILSONVILLE Spring finally turned into Summer in the City Wilsonville and the change has been a gradual one this year. My garden has had a slow start at least two to three weeks behind its normal schedule. Yet who knows what normal really is, it frequently changes its mind. This Spring Daffodils came and went, tulips the same, the Peonies were so beautiful and lasted for such a short time, Roses Blooming and sending out their sweet perfumes and then planting time for any annuals I might add for the summer time. My tomatoes are (14 comments)

My good friend and I walk together as often as we can for two reasons. One, we both need the exercise and keeping our hearts and bodies in check, and two, friendship. A brisk walk, never ending talk and feeling so good when we are done. That's what I'm talking about !

All About Town & Weekend Dining in Wilsonville, & Willamette/West Linn, OR
OK............its almost Friday evening and we are thinking about going to one of our favorite haunts.........hmmmmm which one.
We often frequent in Wilsonville a restaurant Abella Italian Kitchen We love the menu, the wines and the service. Usually we eat in the bar because it is a little more casual and seems cozier. Meeting friends there for a good glass of wine or a martini has become a Friday night ritual. Sometimes they have music and sometimes it is just the greatness of (8 comments)

Feng Shui ~ How Do You Present Your Image To The World ~Your Front Entrance
The front or main entrance to your home is very important as it greets society everyday
The front door, more than any other entrance, conveys to the outside world who you are, what is important to you and how you would like others to interact with you. It is an indication of how you view or feel about yourself. It is important that when we return home we are happy to be back into our own nurturing space through (8 comments)
