For eligible Veterans, using the VA (Veterans Affairs) Home Loan program, the down payment to purchase a home is zero. The sales price of the home can be 100% financed.
However, this does not mean that homebuyers using the VA Home Loan program will not have any out of pocket expenses prior to purchasing the home. Buyer costs associated with purchasing a home can include: Earnest Money Deposit -- typically 1% of sales price of home - funds must be paid within specific number of days after contract (0 comments)
As of 1 JAN 2015, Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loans for the Northern Virginia area were reduced to $625,500.
