steamboat springs: Thunderhead Revealed in Steamboat - 01/18/09 07:13 AM
Last week, I attended a presentation of the conceptual design of Thunderhead located slope side at Steamboat in Ski Time Square. The Atira Group is behind the wheel of this very large redevelopment site of the former Thunderhead Lodge and Condominiums.
They are proposing 2 buildings, 390,112 gross square feet, approximately 100 units (whole and fractional ownership) a mixed use including retail, restaurants and amenities. Of particular interest to me, they are proposing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver designation and have already taken measures during deconstruction to satisfy the reuse of materials component in LEED. For $40,000 one can enjoy valet service at slopeside. In addition to valet parking and ski service, members will be served breakfast, lunch, cocktails and après ski meals. A similar service in Vail goes for $250,000!
This includes lifetime membership and only $3,000 in yearly dues makes this a sweet deal. Imagine, dropping your car off at Ski Time Square, popping down for a complimentary breakfast and cappuccino to warm your bones before you hit the slopes. Then, my favorite...getting to enjoy … (2 comments)
