The stock market reflects the general valuation of publicly traded companies, some of which are: Home builders Home improvement companies Real estate investment trusts Building equipment (CAT and Deere) The stock market can also affect furniture manufacturers and hardware chains like Ace Initially, any significant movement in the stock market will have an effect upon the psychology of the buying public. This will ultimately translate into consumer confidence. Consumer confidence is clearly a big consideration when people purchase real estate, as people are unlikely to commit to a big mortgage payment if they feel unsure about the economy. On September 30, the cost of a the average mortgage could rise alot and that goes for every state not just New Jersey. If this happens, many of your clients run the risk of never being able to buy a home Even worse, this could hold back the housing recovery which will meen our income will go down in flames along side our buyers and sellers. Look at the differance just in New Jersey...........
