albuquerque: Tumbleweed Snowman He’s Back…. - 12/03/14 01:13 PM
Tumbleweed Snowman He’s Back….

The Tumbleweed Snowman has become an annual tradition in Albuquerque.  The Tumbleweed Snowman first made his appearance in the 1990’s some say even earlier.  One thing for sure is he delights commuters on I-40.

The hefty Tumbleweed Snowman can be found this year on the North side of Interstate 40 and East of the Big I.

The Tumbleweed Snowman is quite easy to spot standing 14 feet tall and made from 3 large tumbleweeds.  It took 60 gallons of white paint to turn this otherwise brown tumbleweed into a festive … (38 comments)

albuquerque: Rainfall In Albuquerque - 07/15/14 11:23 PM
Rainfall In Albuquerque

Official July rainfall in Albuquerque so far 1.03 Inches (Average is 0.59) but I doubt we’ve had this much at our home.  Albuquerque is spread out so it could be raining in one area of the Duke City and sunny and dry in the another.

We will take every drop we can get and be thankful for it.  At least the Rio Grande which has been dry is once again flowing.  Without doubt we are welcoming the Monsoon season!

Route 66 Diner Albuquerque

This week Debbie and I enjoyed lunch at one of our favorite diners on Route 66 with Elvis and Marilyn.  The Route 66 Diner is well known and has won many awards for one of Albuquerque’s best diners.  The Route 66 Diner had been featured both on TV and magazines for it's great food and 50's ambiance.

Locals know it well and frequent it often. If you’re visiting the Albuquerque area it should be on your To Do list.

albuquerque: Egret Spotted Along Albuquerque Bosque - 04/29/14 02:35 PM
Egret Spotted Along Albuquerque Bosque

An Egretis any of several Herons, most of which are white or buff, and several of which develop fine plumes (usually milky white) during the breeding season.

The distinction between a Heron and an Egret is rather vague, and depends more on appearance than biology. Egrets have long filamentous feathers that seem to cascade down an egret's back during the breeding season.

Photo was taken by good friend Bob as he walked along the Bosque in Albuquerque enjoying the beautiful day and wildlife that resides there.

Albuquerque REALTOR® Offers Video Previews

I recently worked with some delightful out of state clients looking to retire here in the high desert of Albuquerque NM.  After a very productive telephone conversation and email exchange we zeroed in on their very specific wants and needs for an Albuquerque area home.  They flew in from DC and we spent a portion of two days exploring Albuquerque and touring their selected favorites. We found one home that was a stand out but after a second look it just wasn’t “The One”.

My clients traveled back to their home and continued to monitor new … (23 comments)
