reading: Do You Have an "Active" Child?

I was an active child. My oldest son and daughter were both pretty active (especially my son). But none of it compared to my youngest son, who is the most active person I know! He is the definition of perpetual movement.
These days folks will say, "Oh, he just an active boy. Boys are active! But people, I'm telling you there is active and then there is ACTIVE!" Here are a few examples of his activity:

What do you think about testing for kids in school? I mean specifically - state standardized testing. Do you see it as a necessary thing for teachers and schools to evaluate kids?
I have three children, and each of them are different in every way. One is an advanced student and "gifted" according to teachers. He can spend five minutes studying for a test, and easily make the "A". Math and science in particular come super easy to him. Hey Rain Friends, As I sit here in bed, my husband watching Netflix next to me and my pile of books to be read on my nightstand, I wonder how many of my kind are left in this world? Friends and acquaintances my age tend to like books and read them from time to time. Mostly (it seems) self-"helpish" type books. But even few read novels for fun, and even less on a consistent basis. My teenagers only read when forced. They read well, and they read for pleasure if there's no internet available - like all their friends. But seriously, I can count … (2 comments)

Hey Rain friends! Just wanting to share - I've created tons of these cute printable bookmarks for kids if anyone is interested. I'll post them below! In case you are the parent, grandparent, or caregiver of a young reader. :) If you are like me, you might find it difficult to get kids READING these days. It's so hard to get children off of their screens and devices. But I'm going to keep trying. :) Don't get me wrong, I think devices are fun and handy - great little tools!
