Celebrating the arrival of natures Northwest lifeline from the water, tradition tribal canoes decorate Elliot Bay in a ceremony to welcome salmon into Puget Sound. The value of salmon in our region were honored for cultural, economic, spiritual and environmental impact today.
Seattle Waterfront Park was buzzing with activity this weekend, including a pow wow, coastal drumming, and delectable cooked Salmon

As a member of Seattle Aquarium, I make it there several times a month. It is easy to find great photo opportunities between our marine life exhibits and happy children learning as they have a really great time. Today, however, I have honed in on something special that I would like to share. Art by Dale Chihuly, The Northwest's very own world renowned artist, who has changed the meaning of glass art exhibits across the globe. Seattle Aquarium is hosting a photo exhibit by Daniel Beltra titled "Gulf Oil Spill" I walked to the Aquarium to view the exhibit and share it with you. The photography was magnificent and the man made devastation is crushingly evident. This Seattle Aquarium exhibit is entitled The Ring of Life. As you approach the glass arch filled with dozens of Jellyfish a color wheel emits light on these unusual sea creatures turning their transparent bodies every color of the spectrum.

Living in Seattle lets me go to the Seattle Aquarium on a regular basis. I enjoy being a member and see something new every time I visit. There is a little goldfish named Leonard who has been trying to get his own display at the Aquarium for a while now. He has signs up in the Aquarium and was even told he can move in if he could get 30,000 votes from folks who visit.
