seattle real estate: Rainy Days and Soup
- 01/23/13 04:45 AM
The rain is back for Seattle, after a good run of sunny and very cold days. No need to worry. We just put on our rain boots, water proof coats and a hat. No umbrella needed for our misty sort of rain.
A good time for a hot bowl of soup and some most excellent lettuce cups at P.F. Changs China Bistro on 4th and Pine!
Love the warm ambiance and friendly service. No surprises with the menu either.
Consistently good food and reasonable prices make it a top ten choice for an impromptu dinner! ACCURATE REALTY GROUP (2 comments)
seattle real estate: Recycled with Flair on Alki
- 01/21/13 11:40 PM
It has become an accepted part of our daily lives. We sort, reuse and recycle. And that is a very good thing. Many folks like to use the blue glass bottles we can purchase waters in, as garden or yard art. Although it isn't for everyone, when I see the sun sparkling through these humble masterpieces, I am always satisfied with their effect.
There is one home on Alki that for me, is a must see when we venture out for a winter walk along the strand. Just one more reason to love living in Seattle!

seattle real estate: Winter Market
- 01/17/13 03:04 AM
I love a trip to my favorite market (Pike Place, where else?) on a blustery winter's day! Commuting via ferry from Bainbridge Island is one of the best ways to enjoy the heart of Seattle without the hassle of driving and finding a long term parking spot! Our journey today started out with an unforgettable sunrise that began our adventure on an exhilarating note! A cup of coffee from the ferry concession and a brisk walk around the deck make the thirty-five minute ride fly by!
Upon arrival, we chose the waterfront path to our destination. I love a stroll past (3 comments)

seattle real estate: A Spooky Halloween Story From Seattle
- 10/20/11 05:23 AM
A full moon rises on the water. It stirs me from my slumber as I obey the command of a distant voice, echoing in my head saying "rise up, rise up now"… Crossing the room, as if in a trance, to my window, I move like some stranger, totally possessed by forces I cannot see. I glance upon the October moon as it transforms everything in its path into a twisted blur of menacing light.
Nothing else matters as I see what I must do in the mystical clouds shrouding the moon on this ominous night. I turn from my (12 comments)

seattle real estate: Special Full Moon At Sunrise In Seattle
- 10/12/11 10:09 AM
Watching the full moon take us to sunrise this morning was an especially joyful occasion! It gave me the chance to reminisce, looking back on my one and only son's accomplishments over the past thirty five years, on his birthday today.
As I stood gazing out at Elliott Bay bathed in the warm glow of the moon, I felt the pride only a mother can feel, knowing that her children are doing well, making a difference, creating a future…and the best is yet to come!
Happy Birthday Jim!...

seattle real estate: A Seattle Concept For Eco Friendly Senior Living
- 10/11/11 11:52 AM
As he declares that changing our vision of housing needs to start with seniors, Gordon Walker, renowned Seattle architect is leading the way. Walker, in his seventies, has created his concept of a retirement home for himself and his wife, in the trees on Orcas Island. Modular to a degree, and assembled on site, this contemporary example of "simply what we need" looms into the surroundings with a modern edge and designer feel. The link below will lead you to an article in today's Seattle Times, where you can catch a glimpse of something new, that just might be worth embracing. (10 comments)
I visit the Seattle Aquarium on a regular basis. Today I did my best to capture the Spunky Puffin. A diving bird with a propensity to swim fast and dive hard! These low flying seabirds are fun to watch and have a playful nature with each other.
Seattle Aquarium is a great way for people of all ages to enjoy marine life, as they learn about our environment in a fun and positive way!
The toxic wood preservative used on treated pilings, containing more than 300 chemicals, leaches contaminates into the sound and beaches for the duration of a treated logs life. And that can be a very long time!
Retrieving the treated wood assists all marine life including salmon, herring, Orca whales, Harbor seals, and many species of birds, who have been documented to suffer from effects of creosote. To date, thousands of tons of derelict pilings and beach (12 comments)
