Would you like me to list your house or sell your house? I am convinced that this is a question that we have all asked, wanted to ask, or are going to ask at some point in your dealings with clients. These past few weeks several potential clients have approached me with the intent of listing a home with me. Fantastic, right? I am a big fan of ESPN's "The Contender" and last night's final was not only a great show, it was one of the most incredible fights that I have seen in a loooong time. A ten round fight that ended in TKO in the eighth after both fighter knocked each other down in the first round. The fighters trained with each other in mind but also trained so they could adapt to unforeseeable situations, which is exactly what happened. After football, Sunday TV is pretty limited. However, the wife and I settled on the couch and watched Castaway with Tom Hanks and his volleyball friend, Wilson. I'm sure some of you have seen it at some point. Its a decent movie, not too showy with the effects, more drama than action. Not 100 my 100 best or 100 worst lists. I just read Sara Bonert's blog entitled Subconsciously Undermining Yourself With Your Words and was so pleased that someone else it taking the time to talk about streamlining and effectualizing(definition: making the strongest possible effect *possibly not a real word) their communication skills. I've been studying my own speech and the speech of people who are put into a position where they are the person presenting information to one or more people. The realtors were out in force tonight for the annual rodeo kick-off mixer. Some had been partying since the 8 AM marketing meeting...a loooong day for anybody. Going out and meeting the people of my town was a great way to drum up new business. A lot of these people keep people at arms length most of the year, but the rodeo atmosphere really opens up the communication and comraderie gates.
