real estate: Beware Craigslist Scammers!!
- 06/19/12 07:33 AM
Attention: Please be aware that scammers are taking your online listing information and MLS photos in order to create fake rental ads on Craigslist. They are creating these in order to scam consumers out of their “initial deposits” to rent the property.
This week our office has had multiple agents reporting that their listings were created into fake ads and posted on craiglist as properties for rent by the “owner”. These scammers will usually provide just an email as they are hard to trace and wait for consumers to contact them regarding the ad. These are typically priced very attractively (3 comments)
real estate: What is a Short Sale?
- 09/26/11 12:19 PM
It's been a few years since the market fell apart, but I still get this question at least weekly... What is a short sale? To put it simply, a short sale is an agreement of terms in which the lien-holders of a loan on a home agree to accept less than the amount that is owed from the borrower on the home, through an offer by a 3rd party buyer. The inability to pay the remaining debt is usually a result of financial hardship on the part of the homeowner, accompanied by a substantial decrease in property value. This is seen (2 comments)

real estate: 55th Annual Oakdale Rodeo, night one
- 04/12/07 05:03 PM
The realtors were out in force tonight for the annual rodeo kick-off mixer. Some had been partying since the 8 AM marketing meeting...a loooong day for anybody. Going out and meeting the people of my town was a great way to drum up new business. A lot of these people keep people at arms length most of the year, but the rodeo atmosphere really opens up the communication and comraderie gates. If anyone in the central valley is looking for a good time this weekend, head toward 108/120 and enjoy the sights and sounds of "the Cowboy Capitol of the World"!! (1 comments)

- 08/28/06 10:02 AM
THE FOUR P's OF SELLING YOUR LISTINGS! There are four simple things that go a long way when trying to get your listings sold. Price - Probably the most important aspect of selling is the price. You can have the shabbiest shack or the nicest mansion in the world, but if the price isn't right you are going to have that listing for a while. If you price a property right the first time, price reductions don't become an issue. Be stern with your buyers, it may be better to not get the listing than to get it and waste your time and money (7 comments)
real estate: The First Year
- 08/28/06 06:04 AM

Being young and green, he thought he would make those million dollar sales in the first week. Disappointingly, his first sale didn't come for three months. Now a year later, what has he learned? Here is my list of helpful hints for the first year in real estate. 1. I love big companies. A large brokerage gives you the support you (5 comments)
