Hiring the right real estate agent is important. Here's an example. I last week I took a look at all the active listings in my own neighborhood. Not a single one had the correct elementary school listed, and one also had the wrong high school. A neighboring community of condos also had more than half incorrectly list the elementary school. ( And some of these agents are well known or "area specialists"). Why is this important? Many people search for homes based on the school. Each year the Arizona Department of Education releases it's rankings of schools throughout Arizona. They have used a system of labels including: Excelling, Highly Performing, Performing Plus, Performing, Under Performing and Failing. The schools serving the Desert Ridge area have consistently achieved the Excelling status. The ADE has just unveiled a new grading system for schools that will completely replace the old labels in 2013. Pinnacle High School - Desert Ridge Makes Newsweek's "Tops" list! I was planning my next blog on the Desert Ridge area of Phoenix to be about schools. A newly announced accolade for Pinnacle High School makes this the perfect time. Pinnacle High School, in the Paradise Valley Unified School District, was just named among the best high schools in the country by Newsweek.
