There is an Arabian Proverb that says: "When a door opens not to your knock, consider your reputation." If a door opens for me in the Mission area, now I can rest assured knowing that, the customer I referred, and my reputation, will both be looked after by Terry Chenier. Like Terry, I understand the importance of having a niche and don't try to be an "Everywhere Specialist". I'm RE-BLOGGING this post by Terry to make two recommendations to AR members. Consider defining your niche and becoming a specialist. Because all real estate is local, being a neighbourhood specialist adds (4 comments)

Terry Chenier originally got into real estate in the early 80's during very tough times; and when times were, in his opinion, "...worse than today!" The market being what it is, Terry tapped into a niche market. This introduction helps a discussion as to what might qualify someone as an expert. Terry says, "I am the Mission expert on real estate. I know this area and the inventory, and I know my product." In the real estate industry many REALTORS® claim to be experts. To concentrate one's efforts in a specific area is the first step to becoming an expert, and (3 comments)
