advice: Big Screen TVs are Great to Watch, but NOT so Great to Look At - 07/09/08 06:46 AM
As a home stager, one of my biggest challenges is the big screen TV.  I'm not talking about the ones that sit in a built-in, or on a pretty piece of furniture, or mount on a wall.  I am talking about the self-standing giant boxes that create a huge black rectangular hole in the room. 
To compound the problem, I usually find these giants in the living room, right next to the fireplace, and partially blocking the windows with the great ocean view.

advice: Are Open Houses Worth the Trouble? (a/k/a "Throwing a Party to Which Nobody Comes") - 05/28/08 12:56 AM
I am a homestager in N.E. Florida.  I attended an open house this past weekend (Memorial Day weekend) in a gated resort community that also offers vacation rentals.  I asked the realtor how the open house was going because my experience and word on the street was that open houses just aren't getting any visitors these days.  His response was that this particular open house was getting a fair share of traffic but only because the home happened to be right next to the pools and clubhouse and the vacationers had plenty of time to stop in.  His comment was that open houses … (4 comments)
