Online mapping options (normally powered by Google Maps) continue to amaze me and I just found another fun example on ubasics.com. As a child my dad always said that if I dug a hole in our yard I would eventually reach Australia. It seems he was wrong. I've just spent the last three days at RE Barcamp NYC and the Inman Connect Conference held in Times Square, NYC. One of the more interesting sessions was with Google's own Sam Sebastian who is their Director of Local & B2B (business to business) Markets. Whenever I look at online mapping solution providers I am amazed that so many companies seem to be able to make money off such a thin sliver of the property market. There's one other industry that seems to have lots of providers selling to a very small group of people; 3D floor plans. Then something comes along that makes me realize I'm wrong and there's always better ways to represent property more effectively online. While I love that I can talk to someone anywhere in the world and get an answer to a question quickly (and for free) I hate that as soon as the conversation becomes at all, well, conversational the process becomes unbearable.
