Happy New Year to all of you! Welcome to a New Year with excitement! Mother Nature made plans to visit our area on New Years Eve. She can be a tough old gal this time of year! She was sharing little fluffy flakes of frozen water....and breathing really heavy. IE: Snow and wind! No problem for us...we had planned to stay home this year anyway. 1,998. That is the number of pieces of the jigsaw puzzle we spent dozens of hours putting together. 1,998. Possibly the hardest puzzle we have ever done. Have you ever seen a puzzle with 1,998 pieces? NO? Me neither. Yeah...this one was one of the hardest 2,000 piece puzzles we have ever done. What's that you ask? Where are the last two pieces? That is (or was) the 1,998 piece question!! I love jigsaw puzzles. My daughter, Jaime, loves jigsaw puzzles. Every Christmas break we do new jigsaw puzzles. Active Rain is a fantastic website for those that stay active on the site. But what about those who are inactive? How can we get them active again? Do we reach out to them to try and engage them? Does AR do that? Should they be placed on inactive status? Should there be a minimum number of blogs or comments per month so that they stay engaged? Or is it okay how it is now? I read a blog earlier today that was written by Marte Cliff. I learned that I can always learn new techniques and re-learn some old ones. It gave many great pointers on how to get out of a rut or to get started finding new and more clients. I recommend reading this blog for both old and new agents and for those in other industries. I Made it! One Point after the other has finally added up to 500,000 points. Wait did I make it...or did we? I would have to say "we"! A few years ago, 500k was a huge accomplishment in ActiveRain. Nowadays... 500,000 is not unique...in fact I am the 588th or 589th person to earn that many points on ActiveRain. Rain is good...too much rain at once is bad...but even an inch or half inch right at harvest is not good for most farmers. All year they have prayed for rain and begged for rain...and now that we are smack dab in the middle of the Soybean harvest, rain is forecast for the next three days beginning this afternoon! Farmers have been working 18 hour days getting the soybeans out as rain and wind are not their friends right now. I estimate about 50% of the crop is harvested in the central part of Nebraska.
