Sally's Y Ride & Run ~ Denver, NC (LKN) UPDATE! Back in March I blogged about the 2nd Annual Ride for Sally's Y. The event was held this weekend and I am happy to report it was a HUGE success!! There were over 220 participants and 30+ volunteers at the event. The weather was perfect for such an event and the riders/walkers had a wonderful time, and I guess you're wondering how I know this....well I have the surveys in hand!Early on it was decided that the primary purpose for the event was to raise community awareness over monetary reasons.I am pleased (0 comments)

Denver is getting a YMCA ~ Sally's Y Denver is in the process of getting a YMCA! It is something that I have heard since they finished the Lincolnton YMCA several years ago; even with the rapid growth in the Denver area there wasn't an urgency until David and Jo Clark got involved. On April 4, 2004, their only daughter Sally McKenzie Clark and her cousin Anna Grace Jordan were tragically killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. Both girls were only 19 at the time, with a lifetime of plans and dreams ahead of them. After (4 comments)
