water intrusion: Time for new siding?

B/P Services Group, Inc has just completed a siding renovation project in Jupiter, FL. The existing cedar siding has not been properly maintained over the years and has deteriorated. The most inexpensive way to resolve this situation was to remove the existing battens and cedar siding and replace with Hardiplank. The sheathing we used was 5/8" CDX plywood and we cover the sheathing with (2) layers of 30lb felt paper as well as caulk all of the seams. The felt paper was installed vertically first, then horizontally. This gives added protection against water intrusion. The replicated cedar Hardiplank was then installed (0 comments)
