chisago county: Goose Lake, Chisago Counties best kept secret!

For some reason, Chisago Counties lakes come in pairs or chains! The Goose Lake chain is seen as both. Upper Goose Lake is a bowl shaped lake that reaches a maximum depth of about 5' according to the DNR. It is joined to the Southern or Lower Goose Lake by the Goose Lake Narrows. Public access is only available through this upper lake, through a little known public ramp operated by the DNR. Lower Goose is quite the change, with holes up to 52' and structures that support some great walleye fishing. With lower pressure than surrounding lakes with better access, … (6 comments)

I love Minnesota! As the owner of the local bait shop, I get daily reports from the lake, even if I don't get a chance to get out on it. A large portion of West Rush is visible out of my window, and this morning as I was working, I watched boats traversing the lake with Eskimos piloting around the newly formed ice packs. Well, maybe not packs, more like skims..but hard water none the less! On Wednesday, April 25th the annual Senior Health and Wellness Expo will be held at the North Branch Chisago Senior Center on 6th Avenue and Maple Street.
