lakeshore: Minnesota Rainfal affecting lakeshore sales..or when is there too much water? - 08/06/11 05:54 AM
It has been a weird summer in my area of the state.  By the fall of 2010, my central Mn. location had received 10 inches above our normal rainfall average.  This summer has kept up the rainy trend with our rainfall 25% over normal for this part of Chisago County.
Buyers all summer have looked at me with more than normal distrust, as I tell them that the soggy ground next to the shoreline is unusual, or the tire swing over the swamp is normally a grassy knoll where the grandkids play!  One buyer came right out with it:  "why should … (0 comments)

Ask two experts and get two answers! Some will say that if you see inflationary pressures increasing (such as now), that it is the time to buy your home and pay it back when dollars are 'cheaper'. Yes, the economy is hard right now for a huge amount of Americans, and yet, family time at the lake is still a bonding time that many families will strive for. When times are tough, memories become more important..and with prices down, I … (1 comments)

lakeshore: Need a Snoring Room? - 04/15/07 02:20 AM
I had to laugh at a recent CNN report that 60% of new, upscale homes will include a second master suite, to let the spouse of a snoring person, or restless leg, tv addict etc. get some sleep!  I currently have listed a home with Rush Lake access which has just such an accomodating second master!  A beautiful, warm and open floor plan invites people into it's great entertaining spaces.  8 acres of land leave room for a pool, tennis court, vintage auto collection..whatever the heart desires!  This property comes with deeded lake access to put your dock out, picnic and … (0 comments)
