ActiveRain posting fosters my photography addiction

Over time I have developed a habit of expressing my post themes by collages produced using Picasa  3.
I tend to take subjects as a series of photos and form them into the collage to run with a post.
With 80 odd such collages under my belt over the last year and a bit. I feel that I have a local story that will make a photo ebook that I can use for personal branding purposes.
Of course in my computer gallery there are more collages than I have ever used, some … (13 comments)

activerain: It's got to be here somewhere - 08/02/12 02:56 AM
It's got to be here somewhere Still some months shy of two years of actively participating in ActiveRain but about the anniversary of when I started lurking because I did not have much to say/did not know what to say, I can look back with pleasure on my associations formed in ActiveRain.
I dipped my toe (metaphorically of course because I come up a little short in that department.) ~ I was encouraged and challenged. I tried some more, and the horn of plenty delivered..
I contribute, I like to think, regularly (the numbers down the side show my lapses and shortfalls). … (6 comments)

activerain: It's been a great year - 10/08/11 10:12 AM
It's been a great year In a little quiet time I have realized that I have been blogging on ActiveRain for just over a year. In fact it was 10/04/10 that I reached tentatively into blogging after lurking for a while. What would the old and the bold think!
With 311 posts (2000 comments made/1984 received), and a growing list of readers, I am more involved than I could ever have dreamed (2/6/13 for city/county/state position).
Early encouragement  and criticism was extremely beneficial. I have learned so much about so many different parts of the United States and Canada, so much … (22 comments)

Addendum to yesterday's blog
In a previous post I told you of my face to face meeting with ActiveRainer, Gary Coles (www.Paradise4Gringos.com). After he had so ably assisted me in getting home safely by his physical exertions, he made his way back to Wyoming. In a comment on my blog, he described his continuing adventures of the same day.
I was impressed by meeting him and have included his comments here so that my readers might be inspired by the range of activities that ActiveRain members endure by choice or by chance. Definitely a willing spirit.
Chase over to his blog … (2 comments)

activerain: Playing in the Rain - Gary Coles - 03/12/11 01:21 PM

Playing in the Rain with Gary Coles
Gary Coles (Paradise4Gringos.com) was in Salt Lake City today from Wyoming. We could meet. what an opportunity to turn a blogging friend into reality. A first face to face out-of-state contact for me in ActiveRain.
The complex where we met was huge, me entering in the north part and he in the south. Enter modern communications and I could trundle my power chair to our meeting.  And what a meeting. Gary is generous and giving - a real pleasure to talk to, and a mine of information. I  was surprised to see how … (9 comments)

activerain: You make my day - 03/05/11 12:27 PM

You make my day
Before diving into ActiveRain my blogging efforts had been sporadic, to say the least. My efforts were amateurish, without much direction, other than a web presence, and any contact or comment was very haphazard.
After a few months enjoying ActiveRain interchange, things have changed. I have started to write regularly and to read, with passion, others' work and appreciate comments received. I revel in "how-tos", enjoy wit, and appreciate fine photography and local descriptions.
Comments received have ranged from "I don't agree..." to head patting agreement - all expressing helpful, personal opinion.
I think I have … (10 comments)
