Time to plan ahead for the Utah "Biggie" They came across the plains and into the Rocky Mountains in different seasons, in wagons drawn by oxen, or pulling handcarts, to make a jewel of the Valley of the Great Salt Lake. From the time Brigham Young declared "This is the Place", they have been honored as The Pioneers. July 24 is their day.
It's the Utah big one. Everyone is welcome.

July is very festive in Sandy UT

July is a month of strenuous celebration in Utah. Summer heat does not diminish any of it.
Utah threw itself into 4th of July celebrations to celebrate the founding of this Country. Flags everywhere; gatherings in parks, and  at homes; food, lots of food; spectacular displays and beautiful fireworks that went of for hours, complete surround light and sound.

Pioneer Day in Utah In memory of the Pioneers We're having a holiday in Utah today. It's Pioneer Day ~ the Utah biggie. A day of Parade, picnics, family gatherings, lots of food and fireworks. It's a celebration of the Pioneer Heritage of Utah.
Today we remember the 70,000 pioneers who made their way, often under extreme hardship, from the east to the Valley of the Great Salt Lake to make their home in peace among the mountains of Utah.
