realtors: $16,645 for Habitat For Humanity

We were co-chairs for our Assoc. Habitat For Humanity committee. We held a bowl a thon and golf tounament in 2007. Thanks to everyone who participated we were able to raise $16,645 for our local Habitat. We are also doing a Realtor Build starting in February.

realtors: Safety Seminar

I attended a safety seminar today with Southern Crime Prevention Task Force. It was amazing!! Commander AJ Gwyn gabe us pointers on how to stay safe when showing property as well as how to keep our children safe. His company does this seminar for free. Yes they do sell their products at the end but they were very reasonable and everyone in the room bought something. Whether you love it or hate it, it is a part of our business Remember these simple steps when co-broking: 1) Always be nice to the other agent! Even if it is bad news they are bringing to you, think about it do you really think that want to be telling you this. There is an agent in my area that always tells the other agent getting upset this "It's not good, it's not bad, it just is, now what do we need to do to make it better". realtors: NAR's Proposed Tax Relief

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® praised the House Ways and Means Committee for taking positive action this week on the Mortgage Cancellation Tax Relief Act, H.R. 3648. Since the early 1990s, NAR has pursued repealing the law, which forces individuals to pay an income tax on mortgages that have been forgiven or foreclosed.
