fort worth real estate: Obedience means I might have a bad connection and our call gets dropped. - 06/01/10 11:54 AM
If you are on the phone with me and suddenly discover that you are talking to dead air then one of two things just happened.
1.  The call was dropped due to a weak cell signal.
2.  The call was dropped because I just knew you were about to say something you'd regret.
Mary Lou is an incredibly nice lady with a nose for things that just smell bad.  When we first met, she told me how she'd worked recently with another agent that she terminated the business arrangement with because MAry Lou didn't feel like the agent was looking out for her best interests.  Apparently … (81 comments)

fort worth real estate: Does the Buyer's Agent Really Have a License? - 12/28/08 02:25 PM
How many times have you received an offer on a listing and checked out the cooperating Broker to verify that they are licensed to sell real estate?
As I am sure is the case in many states, it would be easy for a former Texas Real Estate Broker to pose as a current Broker and collect a fee at closing without a license...that is if the listing Broker isn't paying attention.
The law in Texas states that real estate related commissions cannot be shared with any person or entity that isn't properly licensed.  If the Listing Broker pays the co-op fee to … (34 comments)

fort worth real estate: Beyond The Marketing Plan & Beating The Market -- The perfect kind of seller! - 05/27/08 10:35 AM
Beating the Market -A Testimonial To My Client!
My good friend, Cindy, called me a few months ago to break the news that she and her family were moving to Austin.  Her husband Mark is climbing the corporate ladder and has recently transferred.
Mark and Cindy own an investment property in Euless and decided to sell.  Cindy, who followed her father's footsteps to obtain a real estate license in Texas, told me she thought she could sell the house herself and save on commission but she'd rather have me handle it for her while she focuses on the move.

fort worth real estate: Neighborhood Care Teams--A WAY TO SAVE ON GASOLINE! - 05/14/08 04:08 AM
I just posted a blog challenging Active Rain Members to help out in their local neighborhoods.  From there, I cruised over to Adam Waldman's Blog that offers great ways to save on gasoline.  Adam's blog inspired me to add to the concept of Neighborhood Care Teams with a way to save on the expense of gas as well.
When I go to the grocery store, I like to stock up.  I plan ahead for meals and try my best to make sure I have every ingredient I need.  No matter how long my list is, I always forget that one item.

fort worth real estate: Neighborhood Care Teams--A Realtor Challenge - 05/14/08 03:13 AM
I have the best neighbors a homeowner could ask for.  We borrow eggs, we carpool, we watch over each other's homes while on vacations, most of us even have a key to another neighbor's home.  I truly live in a fantastic neighborhood and the single most important reason I haven't moved is because of the wonderful people who live around me.
Yesterday, my closest neighbor family faced an emergency with one of their children.  Their sweet little 10-week old baby boy was taken to the hospital after it was discovered he wasn't breathing.  Dad had to stay home with the two oldest children while mom and the … (16 comments)

fort worth real estate: Blogging for Blood - 01/03/08 03:16 AM
2008 is widely predicted to be a year of economic stress in American Households.
When considering your budget for 2008, if charitable contributions are an item being reviewed, you'll be pleased to know that you can still budget to help others in need. It's a budget and a gift of your time.
There are 8760 hours per year. 1 hour every 56 days is all it takes.6 hours of your time each year saves 18 lives per year.  It's all about the blood.  It's the blood that is the river of life and the river isn't flowing like it should.
60% of Americans are eligible to donate blood.  5% of … (33 comments)

fort worth real estate: TAKING INVENTORY IN 2008 - 01/03/08 02:06 AM
We've all read the stories of the Natural Disasters that can strike without enough time to plan ahead.  From tornadoes and hurricanes to wild fires and floods, Mother Nature can strike swiftly.
Have you ever wondered after the smoke has cleared or the water has receded what it would be like to file the insurance claim?  After loved ones and pets have been accounted for, the time to recall what all was lost can be daunting.
TAKE INVENTORY NOW BEFORE DISASTER STRIKES
20 minutes and a camcorder is all it takes to Take Inventory.  Go through each room, closet and storage area of your home and record a video of its contents.
