maui activities: Dinner of Aloha - 09/25/11 11:10 AM
One of the wonderful things about living on Maui is the incredible community, which gathers together to lend support and encouragement to those in need.  Several members of our community have gathered together to present a "Dinner of Aloha" to raise funds to assist the family of Olivia Bianco, a young girl from Maui recently diagnosed with cancer.  Olivia is in home hospice care, and proceeds from the dinner will assist the family with mounting medical and living costs.
If you are a foodie and happen to be on island, you'll want to check out this six course wine dinner held beachfront at the charming old Olowalu Plantation House.  Prepared by Chef Luis … (4 comments)

maui activities: The 30th Annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, June 9-12, 2011 - 05/02/11 09:11 AM
The 30th Annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival,  "A Toast to 3-0", celebrates the fine wine and some of the finest food in the islands.

It's that time of year again!  Hosted by Master Sommelier Fred Dame, Kapalua Resort's legendary Kapalua Wine and Food Festival celebration takes place this June 9-12.
Friday and Sunday nights are the standout events the Festival is known for, but for newcomers, they should know the festival include so much more: tastings, classes, a wine maker's dinner, and even a golf tournament.
Amongst the tastings, I'm particularly looking forward to "Three Decades of Reserve … (2 comments)

maui activities: New Concierge Service! - 01/28/10 09:47 AM
Working in a resort community like Kapalua, I am often asked what people should do while they are here on island.  I have my personal favorites, like visiting my hometown of Makawao, which is filled with art galleries, and home to a bakery that is renowned in the islands for its cream puffs.  A hike in Hana always hits the spot, and every year I try to squeeze in as many whale watches as possible.
I'd like my website to be more than just a resource for real estate information, and I'm always looking for new features to add to the visitor … (2 comments)

Kapalua Adventures Debuts new Sunset and Full Moon Zip Line Tours!
Having grown up here on Maui, I can honestly say I'd never seen such views until I took the ziplines up above the Kapalua Resort.  My first thought was that it would be spectacular at sunset.  Now you can enjoy the legendary sunsets on the Sunset Zip Tour, which runs on Wednesday and Saturday from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, beginning on July 18, 2009.
The new Full Moon Zip Tour is offered once a month from 8:00 to 10:00 pm.  Participants will venture across the longest and highest suspension bridge in … (0 comments)

maui activities: A Perfect Day Off in Maui... - 03/09/09 08:37 AM
While Maui is famous for its beaches and golf courses, there are many wonderful things to do beyond the resorts.
Living and working in Kapalua is idyllic, but when I have a day off, one of my favorite day trips is to loop between the towns of Paia and Makawao.  Paia is a sleepy beachside town filled with little cafes and shops.  Paia is close to tourist mecca Mama's Fish House, and one of the windsurfing world's most photographed spots: Hookipa Beach Park.  My favorite stops are The Fish Market (great sandwiches), Milagros (local margaritas), the Flatbread Co (homemade pizzas), and Cafe Des Amis (desert … (0 comments)
