One of the biggest objections I hear when offering my services to agents is that they say they feel their photos are "good enough". I believe there are some basic technical criteria every agent and professional photographer should be achieving to provide the best possible photographs to the homeowner. Below are what I feel is needed to make a listing stand out visually. After all, most first impressions of the home come from an online search. The photographs should draw the potential buyer to want to see the property in person yet still be a realistic presentation.
I've see lots of agents say they take their own pictures and they are "just fine" or "good enough". I realize that great photography will not sell a home, but it will spark more interest. Also, showing potential clients the power of professional photography when laying out your marketing plan for their home, stresses your commitment to success. In my little part of the world we are fortunate enough to have 4 beautiful seasons. With a fluffy white dusting of snow this morning, you know, the kind that twinkles in the moon or sunlight I thought, what a great opportunity to re-shoot some seasonal exteriors of homes. Images that are updated with the current season can really stand out. The other shots should still be kept as a reference.
