One of the best ways to enjoy the Crystal Coast of North Carolina... Is from the water. Kayaking is not only fun and relaxing (depending on how fast you row), it is great excercise and allows you to enjoy things from a different point of view. If you do not have your own kayak, there are several places you can rent one. Then all you have to decide is where to go. Kayaking is fabulous on Bogue Sound. The ocean is a great place too, but expect to get (5 comments)
“How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then rest afterward” - Spanish Proverb –
The photo above was taken this morning, at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast where you can enjoy doing "nothing" or spend the day on the golf course, playing tennis, lounging by the pool, or visiting with friends over a fabulous meal in the lounge. "Resting" while enjoying that AWESOME view of Bogue Sound is not too bad either! For more information about the club or to become a member, visit their website at www.crystalcoastcc.com. Last night, we had a dozen children (under the age of 11 years) at Saint Francis by the Sea. We were to plan our summer activities, enjoy some pizza & ice cream, walk the labyrinth, and then we all decided to walk the trail to the situm at Bogue Sound. As we approached the situm, time stood still and although, a dozen children were running around, laughing and having a great time, all I heard was silence as I stopped and enjoyed the beautiful moment! Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with beautiful moments! (49 comments)
Each morning as I drive to the office (yes, I go to the office everyday), I feel blessed that when I look to my left, I see the Atlantic Ocean and to my right are glimples of Bogue Sound. Life on an island is pretty special (even in Hurricane season).

Well Folks, with the Holiday Season quickly coming to an end, Christmas Trees will be finding their way to the end of driveways, and then off to the landfills or somewhere else! Don't let your tree become one of them.
The fabulous Fort Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina can put your retired Christmas Tree to use! Just drop your undecorated tree off at the Drop Station located behind the Bath House in the Public Beach Parking area and they will strategically place each tree in (9 comments)
With winter, comes cool & windy days on the Crystal Coast. With winter, also comes some of the most amazing sunrises too! Yesterday morning as I was preparing my second cup of coffee, I looked out the kitchen window and saw pinks, oranges, and purples filling the sky. Had to grab the camera and head out the back door.
Then as I headed over the Atlantic Beach Causeway to the office, I had to pull over at the Channel Marker Restaurant and snap a shot of Bogue Sound. I Love the way that Carolina Blue sky (8 comments)
