There are many types of Realtors. Many sellers don't know this....they assumed that if you are a Realtor you should know what you are doing. But just like all professions, Realtors come with many specialties. We live in a  age of  many distressed homes, that needs agents that can help them navigate through the minefield of a short sale. The wrong information can kill a deal or worse, send a home into foreclosure.

Many times Realtors are approached with questions about Real Estate that are often answered in a sentence, a word or depending upon the setting...a entire paragraph. But what do Realtors really know?
Realtors often know where the market is headed in their area. Many recognize a low price listing on the MLS without visiting the listing,as one that may require more than a first time buyer can handle, but we will email it to you anyway because if we don't send it to you....you will only wonder why when you do your own Internet search. Many buyers are mislead into believing that this is a buyers market because of the depressed economy, news media hype about foreclosure bargains etc.  True it is a depressed economy, true, there are many foreclosures to choose from...but it is those two things that have created the new market that I call a "Bank Market".
With most of the bargains being bank owned or short sales...homebuyers mistakenly believe they can get a good deal by the normal standards which I will call "normal bidding"..which goes something like this....you see a house you like..yet you need to think about it (if you … (1 comments)

realtors: What do you do when you can't close because the Seller will not move???? - 06/25/10 04:33 PM
What do you do when your Buyer is ready to close, the Seller has a approval on their Short Sale and both parties can close but the Seller decides to stall the closing because they are purchasing (on the sly,not using the same agent or attorney on purchase) another home that is not ready to close. They did not put any contingency on the contract to that effect, but now that the close is a realty they start stalling. They are not in default on the mortgage they currently have (the short sale) so we are not sure of the legality … (10 comments)
