Middle Georgia residents, come on out to Jailhouse Park and Main Street in Byron GA this Saturday (May 7th) for the annual Battle of Byron. This family fun event was started in 1979 to help spur community improvements and has morphed into a wonderful city wide affair. When they say there is something for everyone, they mean it. Events include: Patriotic Parade (9am) Bed Race Mud Volleyball Car Show Motorcycle Show Banana Relay Ice Cream Churn-Off Purty Feet Contest Men's High Heel Races Tug of War Pie Eating Contest Tricycle Races Arts & Crafts Kids Corral ...and a host of other fun events as … (6 comments)
battle of byron: Things to do in Byron GA - Battle of Byron Fall Festival and Chili Fest

C'mon out to Jailhouse Park in Byron GA on 23 Oct for the 2nd Annual Battle of Byron Fall Festival and Chili Battle! The event starts at 2:00pm and includes a chile contest ($300 grand prize), hayride, ghost tour, jail n' bail, arts and crafts, pumpkin carving and pie contests, as well as a host of other activities. Musical entertainment is provided by the JJ Weeks Band, starting at 4:30pm in Jailhouse Alley. If you have a mouth watering chili recipe, pull out the pots, blend up the spices, and brew up a batch!
