Centerville Georgia | Centerville Real Estate In the early 1800's, the area now known as Centerville GA was settled by the Busbay family who appropriately called the area Busbayville. Back around 1885, the lone store owner, Mitchell Etheridge, tried to change the name to Centerville but was rebuked because a town by that name already existed in Georgia so he named the area after his oldest daughter, Hattie. In 1958, Hattie was incorporated and officially renamed Centerville. Interestingly, the city is located halfway between Macon and Perry as well as midway between Byron and Warner Robins.
