Everyone with access to Robins Air Force Base is invited to the end of Summer Bash held next Saturday (Sept 24th) from 4pm-8pm at Robins Park on base. What's the Summer Bash? Summer Bash is the Services Division's annual customer appreciation program and provides the Robins community one last opportunity for fun in the sun.
It is a jam-packed 4 hours with musical performances by the Air Force Generations Band and Robins Idol participants and fun-filled events like an obstacle course, craft fair, circus train, golf chipping, rockwall, Lil Tykes area, and even face painting and airbrush tattoos.

Self defense for women, of any type, can better educate and equip women to ward off attackers. Understanding the need to help women be better prepared, the Warner Robins Police Department will be holding basic handgun classes for women later this month.
The classes are June 20th and 22nd from 6pm to 8pm and June 25th from 8am-12pm. Each class will have 3 sessions with participants required to attend all 3.
The classes are free but students are required to bring their own handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, eyewear, and ear protection.

Sponsored by the Georgia National Guard, Warner Robins GA will host its first Yellow Ribbon Expo on Saturday April 9th from 8am-3pm at the American Legion located at 1345 Radio Loop in Warner Robins (across from the Ramada Inn on Watson Blvd).
The event will educate spouses of deployed military members (any branch) on the benefits they are entitled to while their loved ones are serving overseas.
With 26 organizations such as the Dept of Labor, Military One Stop, Robins Federal Credit Union, Transition Assistance, Tricare, and Veterans Affairs present, spouses can get the most current information on topics important to them.

A recent buyer asked me if I knew what the Post-9/11 GI Bill was and whether or not they qualified for it. They didn't qualify, but it did prompt me to learn more about this educational program our military (current and former) can take advantage of.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is available to anyone who served honorably in the military for 90 consecutive days on or after September 11, 2001. It's also available to those who served 30 days and were discharged with a service-connected disability. Under some conditions the military members benefits can be transferred to a dependent.

In an effort to alleviate parking issues and reduce pollutants, Robins Air Force Base (RAFB) has initiated the Buses into Robins Daily (BiRD) program. BiRD runs from the Macon Centreplex to RAFB (and return) and costs $3 one-way ($6 bucks round-trip).
Buses into Robins Daily departs Macon at 7 different times in the AM (between 4:45am-8:05am) and returns 8 times each afternoon (between 2:40pm-6:20pm). Once on-base the buses stop at 10 different locations. For a complete BiRD departure/arrival schedule, stop route, and general program details check out the RAFB BiRD pamphlet.

Tops in Blue, the Air Force's all-amateur premier entertainers will be performing their "We Believe" tour at the Warner Robins Civic Center on Oct 24th at 7pm.
Cost is free, first come, first served.
Yearly, each base has a talent competiton with the top performers invited to try out for Tops in Blue. The 35 people selected are the Air Force's best-of-the-best musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, magicians and actors.
In addition to performing, they are responsible for all technical portions of the production, all aspects of travel, as well as being Air Force (AF) ambassadors to all they meet.
