In 3 short days (30 Sept), Google will pull the plug on its very first social network (Orkut). The vast majority of us will not miss it if we have even heard of it (it predates Facebook by a month and was actually bigger than FB in India and Brazil for several years). As I mentioned a few weeks ago, my team was about to start using Slideshare as another visual way to try and reach new clients and build brand awareness. While not indicative of future activity/success, I just picked up a new seller as a result of using this social media platform. Literally after just a handful of posts. Social media works! My team and I are self professed social media junkies. We are always looking for another tool to add to our online arsenal to get my brand and real estate message to the masses.
