Jammin At The Junction is a benefit concert honoring the memory of Larry Childers, a much-loved resident of Helena. Mr. Childers believed in being involved and served tirelessly in the community as well as a number of charities that were dear to his heart. After his death in February 2009, Larry's good friend, Bo Bice, came up with the idea of a benefit concert to honor Larry's memory and to extend that sense of community involvement and to continue to help the charities (6 comments)
The Pumpkin Patch Express is bringing smiles and Halloween fun to kids of all ages each Saturday and Sunday during the month of October! The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera is about 30 miles south of downtown Birmingham down I-65 and is well worth the short drive.

Leonardo's Italian Restaurant in Vestavia will always be one of my favorite places to dine in the Birmingham area. Mike and I had our wedding reception there almost eight years ago. We had a morning wedding and then everybody went to Leonardo's for lunch. It was wonderful!
A cozy little place that serves lunch and dinner, offers a full bar with live music nightly, Leonardo's is a real treat!
Our anniversary will be Tuesday, but we decided to celebrate with dinner at Leonardo's a few days early. I am so glad we did (9 comments)

The Ivy Brook Homeowners Association is planning a night of Halloween fun for the neighborhood Trick or Treaters!
There will be a Costume Contest….to participate you can visit one judge or all three….each judge’s house will be marked with a sign. Visit between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
In addition there will be a Pumpkin Decorating Contest. The judges for this contest will be touring the neighborhood between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. to pick out the top 3 pumpkins!
