Here in north Georgia we are rapidly approaching the end of summer - according to the calendar, that is.  The tepid days are lingering, but nevertheless, the scarerows are on their way!  Marietta Square is preparing for their arrival on Friday, September 24th to kick off the fifth annual Scarecrow on the Square contest.
A public contest and a school contest are both open to contestants.  Creators are encouraged to use a theme and name that showcases their business or group's personality or celebrates Marietta's history with a historic figure.  All entries will be judged on originality, construction and presentation.

Marietta, Georgia will begin a new tradition to raise awareness of our nation's history and government.  Americans for Prosperity Foundation and a coalition of organizations will work to host the first ever Constitution Day Festival of Georgia on Friday, September 17th from 5-10PM at Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square.
