Paying it forward is especially fun during the holidays. I think people are so busy that they don't have as much time to do nice little things for others. Although, some think of it only at this time of year. Anyway, I decided to help an elderly neighbor of mine. It's been snowing a bit here and I have found that most elderly people prefer not to go out during the storms or until the roads and walks are cleared. This announcement was sent out to all Realtors today regarding the upcoming Governor race... Governor Candidate Scott Walker is endorsed by the Wisconsin Realtors Association - (based on his record on Real Estate issues.) In my humble opinion I believe ALL homeowners should consider this when voting in November. One key item voted down in the past year or so was the transfer tax increase, the current governor wanted to raise that fee from $3 per $1000 to $10 per $1000. The numbers are now in for November Sales. The market is down from last year, Sales are 22 for the month, with 35 last year for the same period. This is a drop of 13% from last year. Listings are also down - with 45 new listings, last year there were 50 new properties on the market. This is a 5% decrease.

It's time for shovels and plows and for the kids to get out with their snowsuits on! Well, it's the first measurable snow of the season -- if last Monday's under an inch doesn't count. Last Monday was a storm to quickly forget. Most people out after the snow where in gridlock and driving on treacherous black ice. Enough about that. Where is the best place to raise a family? Right where I live and practice real estate! According to Forbes Magazine there are 2 Wisconsin counties -- both in the Milwaukee area that rank among the top 10. Among the criteria to be selected are: A low cost of living including reasonably priced homes, and short commute times and excellent schools. Also the communities had to have populations greater than 65,000. And the average SAT and ACT scores must top 1,050 or 22, respectively.
