I've talked extensively on this topic with my colleague, Jerry Murphy, and neither of us has an answer to this question: Why do responses for offers on short sale properties come back much, much more slowly than bank owned properties? It seems to us that, typically a financial institution would be more motivated to deal with a short sale earlier on when they have much more of an opportunity to recoup a larger percentage of their losses than dealing with practically giving it away as a bank owned property later.
