Handing out your business card is not only good etiquette but it's expected in most business situations.  It's often the first point of contact between your brand and a new potential customer but often serves no purpose in promoting your brand or services. It's merely a supporting element in your marketing. It won't help you get new customers but ensures that if you've done some other things right, they'll know how to get in touch with you.
