Just Boys Being Boys
I love visits from Jacob and Hunter. I just never know what will interest them or how they will entertain themselves or need to be entertained.
Today I had a very interesting conversation with Jacob, age 4 1/2, about why I had a fireplace in my house. (His family does not have a fireplace, but they have firepit outside near their patio.) He wanted to know all about the safety of fireplaces. I wonder where his curiosity will lead him later in life.

Looking for business? 'BE SOCIAL' Picnic, Lunch with a friend. School Reunion, Christening,Wedding, Night out.
Go where people gather. Put the focus on the other person. Ask how they are. Ask what is new in their lives. People love to talk about themselves. Eventually the conversation will come around to you and real estate.
Don't over do. Just keep the conversation casual for now. There will be time to keep in touch and build relationships. Don't forget to have fun, too!

These words spoken by President Franklin D. Roosevelt referring to December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Those same words apply to September 11, 2001 attacks on World Trade Center, the Pentagon and crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.
America will not forget.

Hallow Ground: American flag marks location of Flight 93 crash
(see American flag in distance)
Mementos left by other visitors at make-shift memorial at edge of field. Barely a whisper was heard even as a bus load of visitors arrived.
Out of respect for the victims only family members are allowed to walk across field to the exact spot where Flight 93 went down.
Photos taken three years ago, but it feels like yesterday. Shanksville is only 15 miles off the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Take a detour to pay homage to those … (21 comments)

Breaks are good from time to time as they give the mind and body a chance to regroup and refocus. Some days my ‘break’ is only a ten minute reprieve from the ‘rat race.’

Wow! Isn't ActiveRain amazing? Through ActiveRain I met Carolyn Kolba who only lives about 60+ miles across the PA/OH border. Carolyn came to my site to comment on Lake Erie sunset post. Today I was returning the favor and read her fantastic post which earned Carolyn her first Feature.

PS I also met Eric Crane whose wife was originally from Cleveland and remember Lake Erie sunsets.

Lessons Learned from Lemonade Stand
Summer and no school means the lemonade stands (see post by Donna Foerster) are beginning to pop up in many neighborhoods. Maybe you remember the one you had oh, so many years ago. How much money did you make?
Did you have competition from the kids down the block? Whose lemonade was better? How did your sign compare to theirs? How did you attract customers? Who had the better location? Did you offer homemade cookies with the lemonade? Who had the best service?
Bottom line: Who made more money?

We aren't sure how old the penquin is, but he certainly knew how to capture the kids' attention.
The polar bear really knows how to have fun and keep cool, too.
Hunter informed me that under the polar bear's white fur his skin is black. Later he told the docent that how fast a lion can run and that a cheetah is the fastest land mamal. If Hunter was 12 years old he could be a junior volunteer at the … (5 comments)

I didn't hear hoofs on my new roof, but out of the corner of my eye I saw this beautiful deer walking through the back yard. I couldn't believe that he/she was so calm while I took several pictures. At first I thought the camera battery was about to die, but luck was on my side. Another reason to post in Do Not Worry ~ Today

I am so excited about my new roof. How many people get excited about a roof? Well, probably anyone who had a huge limb fall through their roof and then had to wait three months before the stars (a.k.a. the weather) aligned for the roofers to arrive.
